Physical Services - Medicare Programs
Conclusive evidence shows that structured physical activity and lifestyle programs are an integral component in the management of various chronic conditions.
The services offered by Preventive Medicine and Rehabilitation's AEP's for those with chronic medical conditions are eligible for a Medicare rebate. The services must be received under a Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan or a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. Eligible clients can receive up to a maximum of 5 rebates per calendar year while under an EPC or CDM plan.
AAESS accredited Exercise Physiologist services will be rebated by Medicare to the amount of $44.85 per session. To be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for these services provided by an AEP to manage chronic disease, patients will need to be referred to PMRC by their GP.
