Physical Services - Physical Training

Our holistic pain management programs are tailored to suit individuals. The programs aim to enhance and maintain optimal health and return injured workers to full functional capacity, with close involvement of our physicians, exercise physiologists and psychologists. The multidisciplinary approach allows the patient to manage and control their levels of pain more effectively through flare-up plans, goal setting, pacing, stress management and individualised physical conditioning. Communication between doctor, exercise physiologist, rehab provider, case manager and insurer is encouraged and facilitated by the reporting process, which involves an initial assessment, mid program progress and end of program report.

The Pain Management Programs consist of:

Initial Consultation and Assessment
  • Physical assessment with an exercise physiologist and/or physiotherapist (1 hr)
  • Psychosocial assessment with a Psychologist (1 hr)
  • Case Conference to review program plan and goals

The Rehabilitation Program (8 or 12 weeks)
  • 3 supervised exercise therapy sessions per
    week (1 hr)
  • 1 session per week with psychologist (1 hr)
  • Mid program medical review, physical assessment and case conference

Final Consultation
  • Final medical review
  • Physical assessment and case conference
  • Discussion of options for continuing progress, such as a self-managed gym program, a home exercise program or an extension of the program.
